The current legislature allows for partnerships, companies as well as individuals, to be a registered tax agent. Application for registration can be made for the following two scenarios:
Partnerships and companies who are registering as a tax agent are required to have an adequate amount of registered individuals who are a registered tax agent, to provide tax services to a competent standard and to accomplish any supervisory arrangements. As such, the individuals who are delivering these services are also required to register.
A registered tax agent will remain registered for a minimum of 3 years following approval by the tax practitioners board.
